The Kenana Knitters are a group of women who make up a self supporting knitting co-operative in Kenya. Not only have they acquired a dignified source of income but they have also gained both a health care facility and a literacy project as a result of the the proceeds raised from the sale of their products. 
  Each critter is signed by its maker - signatures which represent the pride and newfound independence that has grown among these women.
